If I buy property in France or Portugal, do I automatically get a visa or residency? Which country is easier for foreigners?
Buying property alone does not automatically grant residency in France. Non-EU buyers must apply for long-stay visas or economic residence permits, which are strict and often require significant investment and proof of income. In Portugal, the process is more flexible. Foreigners can obtain residency through the Golden Visa program by purchasing property (from €280,000 in certain areas) or through the D7 Visa if they have stable passive income. Both options allow legal residence for the buyer and family members, with a pathway to permanent residency or citizenship after five years. Our immersive experience is designed to offer flexibility while ensuring a seamless and high-quality service. Payments are divided into three stages, each reflecting a commitment to transparency and legal compliance: 20% Deposit – Strategic meeting → Secures your initial meeting to discuss territories, project opportunities, and perspectives you may not have considered. → This phase allows reflection and confirmation of your commitment. The deposit is non-refundable, but you may choose to pause the process after this meeting without further obligation. → In accordance with French consumer law, you benefit from a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of payment of the deposit. This period allows you to reconsider your commitment without penalty. 60% – Property Search & acquisition → Covers the full scope of services for property identification, visits, negotiations, and legal follow-up until notarization. → Activates all operational and logistical arrangements related to your real estate project. 20% – Creative coordination & project execution → Triggers the coordination of architects, interior designers, landscapers, and decorators to execute the vision for your project. → Paid upon commencement of this phase, corresponding to the delivery of tangible, high-value outcomes. → All payments are invoiced and can be documented for accounting purposes.
